About IQAC
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was established in Pollachi College of Arts and
Science with a insight to sustain equilibrium through Quality Sustenance and Enhancement by
following the guidelines of NAAC. The principle aim of IQAC is to develop a system for
deliberate, constant and catalytic improvement in the academic and administrative
accomplishment of the institution.
Objectives
To channelize the institution towards promoting a holistic academic excellence
To travail towards attaining the goals of quality escalation and maintenance
To endorse measures for institution’s steady functioning towards quality enhancement by
best practices and institutionalization
Quality Policy
To practice universal standards of excellence in all accomplishments comprising teaching,
research, consultancy, and continuing education and to stay focused and support functions and in
that way to hold ourselves accountable to stakeholders, through the constant processes of self-
evaluation and continuous quality improvement.
Functions
Developing and implementing quality benchmarks / parameters for various academic and
administrative activities of the institution.
Inculcating research culture among the staff and students.
Facilitating a learner-centric and problem-centric conducive phenomenon for quality
education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge exposure and technology for a
healthy teaching and learning process.
Obtaining feedback from students, parents and other stakeholders to provide Quality
higher education.
Dissemination of information on various quality parameters in higher education.
Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities,
including adoption and dissemination of best practices.
Preparing the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per the guidelines and
parameters of NAAC for every cycle.
Strategies
Members of the IQAC meet frequently to discuss, plan and review methodologies for quality
sustenance and enhancement in overall educational and administrative activities. The IQAC will
facilitate/contribute in:
Conduct of Student Induction program and Bridge Course for first year students
Organize Parent-Teacher meeting regularly and on-need basis
Offer Add-on/Certificate/ Diploma courses for students
Preparing and Adhering to the Academic Calendar as per the parent University guidelines
Organize workshops / seminars/guest-lectures / endowment lectures/ conferences /faculty
development programs / cultural programs/ webinars
Conduct activities in tune with Government initiatives like Swachh Bharat, and Village
Adoption Program
Observation of National Festivals and celebration of important days
Community connect activities are taken up through NSS, NCC and various clubs formed
by each department of the college
Documentation of the activities organized by the institution
Annual submission of AQAR to NAAC
